Lagos Society Lady, Jumoke Okoya Thomas Regains her Groove

This is certainly the best of times for  Jumoke Okoya-Thomas. The seasoned female politician and a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, is now a Woman Leader of the Lagos chapter of ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC).

The well respected high society lady last weekend took over from a female political arch rival, Kemi Nelson, who has been on the seat for some years now.

Okoya was selected for the plum job based on her pedigree as a passionate politician, whose stay in the Federal House of Representatives is still being talked about in the state. She is also seen as a unifying factor for women in the party, not only in Lagos State, but in the entire South West and beyond.

In the words of her staunch supporter, “Jumoke is kind-hearted, she is loyal and amiable. Everybody sees her as a genius, who will achieve anywhere she is.”

The daughter of  the late Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas, the Asoju Oba of Lagos, Olajumoke, was born on the 20th of January 1957.
