Manchester United are lining up Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo as a potential replacement for Mourinho , according to Bild.
With United’s poor start to the Premier League season and reported rifts between Mourinho and some players at the club, the Red Devils hierarchy are weary the special one could be going through his ‘third season syndrome’.
Jose publicly bemoaned the lack of transfer activities at United over the summer. With reports claiming he desperately fought for players such as Willian, Ivan Perisic and Toby Alderweireld but got none.
There were also issues with Anthony Martial that led to the young French forward being fined.
Mourinho is however, not concerned about rumours surrounding his future, claiming it will be too expensive to sack him.
“They say I’m in danger but I don’t think it,” the 55-year-old said.
“If they send me away, do you have any idea how much money they would have to give me?”
But According to Bild, there has been a shortlist drawn up of potential replacements in case of his departure.
