Golden Eaglets of Nigeria have beaten the Black Starlets of Ghana 3-1 on penalties to qualify for the 2019 African U17 Cup of Nations.
Nigeria have qualified for the 2019 edition of the African Nations U17 championship scheduled to hold in Tanzania.
The Golden Eaglets defeated the Black Starlets 3-1 on penalties after both teams plated out a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Ghana opened the scoring 9 minutes after the break before Akinwunmi Amoo levelled things for Nigeria on 67 minutes.
Both teams sought for a winning goal but it wasn’t to be as the game went into Shootouts.
Ishaya, Tijani and Ibrahim all scored for the Golden Eaglets, while Amoo and three Ghanian players missed from the spot.
Nigeria will now battle it out with Tanzania, Morocco, Cameroon, Uganda and Angola for the top four spots to represent Africa at the 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup.
