A hat-trick for Odion Ighalo and a Samuel Kalu screamer gave Nigeria a convincing 4-0 win against Libya.
Ighalo scored a first half penalty just after 4 minutes to give the Eagles a perfect start. 13 minutes after the restart, Ighalo made it two when he rounded the Libya goalkeeper after a defense splitting pass from Alex Iwobi.
The China-based striker completed his hat-trick on 69 minutes, his first ever for the super Eagles.
At this point, the Super Eagles had become extremely confident in their play and it showed in their final goal.
Samuel Kalu received the ball at the edge of the box from Henry Onyekuru, the Bordeaux forward controlled, set himself up and curled a sumptuous effort into the far left corner of Libya’ goalkeeper.
The win means Nigeria are now second on the log, one point behind new group leaders South Africa,
The South Africans had earlier smashed six past Seychelles in front of their home crowd.
