The renowned ruler of the Egba clan in Abeokuta, bade his old friend Pa Aderounmu farewell. The Alake of Egba Land, Oba Adetoun Aremu Gbadebo III has ruled since the 2 August 2005.

A close source revealed that the Alake and Pa Aderounmu have been friends since their university days in Ibadan. Both men attended the University of Ibadan in I965 and have been close friends ever since.

Thus, it is for this reason that the monarch attended Pa Adetunji Adedoyin Aderounmu’s funeral to bid him farewell. The funeral was in the ancient city of Abeokuta last weekend. Hence, the Alake said a final goodbye to his old friend.

The late Pa Aderounmu is survived by his wife (Mrs. Mojisola Aderoumu).

And children: Lola Ifarajimi, Lade Oyekunle, Ayo Adenipekun, Remi Aiyedogbon, Bolatito Obiri and Adetunji Aderounmu

Furthermore, he died on Wednesday 8th August 2018 at the age of 75 years old.

Although traditional rulers do not engage in partisan politics, the Alake advised that politicians put the interest of Nigerians above their ‘Selfish Interest’.

Recall that the Alake celebrated his 75th birthday recently.
