It is trending at the moment that the most powerful Yoruba monarch has gotten a new bride. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi.
According to a post on his official Instagram page, the new Olori is Prophetess/Evangelist Naomi Shilekunola Moronke. See Story Here
Reportedly, she is the founder of EN-HERALDS, an interdenominational ministry based in Akure,Ondo state Nigeria.
In the ensuing controversy that the secret marriage is causing, Happenings reached out to a source close to the palace. Who outrightly affirmed that the prophetess is not “Kabiyesi’s new wife”.
A reason this source rejects Prophetess Naomi as the new Olori of Ife is not far-fetched. Apparently, the Ife palace is split in half at this latest development. Not only because the new Olori is a Christian Prophetess which is in direct contradiction to the traditional beliefs in Ife. She is also not an indigene of Ife.
Thus the source the alleges that this is causing major controversy not only at the Palace but amongst Ife people.
While a faction wholeheartedly accepts the Oba’s choice of bride, another faction does not.
Whatever the controversy is generating, Prophetess Naomi married the Oba yesterday, 18th Oct 2018, in a secret wedding ceremony. See Exclusive Photos of the Ceremony Here
Recall that the Ooni of Ife is single, after two failed marriages in the past.
