Palace of the Ooni of Ife Defends Claims that Olori Naomi Walked on Blood

It is no longer news that the most powerful monarch in the Yoruba kingdom, the Ooni of Ife has remarried.

Oonirisa Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II tied the knot with his prophetess bride, Olori Naomi Oluwaseyi Ogunwusi.

Although, his marriage is causing controversy because his new Olori is a Christian prophetess/evangelist. His bride, Olori Naomi Oluwaseyi is reportedly the founder of an interdominal ministry in Ondo Akure.

At the root of this controversy is the viral photo of the Prophetess Olori, walking on a substance that looked like blood.

However, a social media page allegedly belonging to the Ooni’s palace is debunking the rumour that Olori Naomi walked on blood. According to them, she was not walking on blood but Cam Wood. Which has a red colour like blood when mixed with water.

The page went further to say:

“There’s nowhere in Yoruba tradition where a bride is required to step over blood as part of a wedding rite.”
