Trouble For Ayodele Fayose as Bail is Denied Remanded in EFCC Custody

The embattled former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose was denied bail at the Federal High court in Lagos.

He is facing an 11-count charge on Money laundering, abuse of public office, criminal breach of trust and stealing up to the tune of N4.7bn.

Since he stepped down as executive governor of Ekiti, Fayose has been in the net of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Interestingly, on the eve of his court appearance, former Minister of Defense Musiliu Obanikoro travelled out of the country.

Allegedly Fayose received funds through  Senator Musiliu Obanikoro in the build-up to the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti State.

The former governor of Ekiti arrived court yesterday, Oct. 22 2018, at 8:30am. However he pleaded not guilty to the charges against him .

Furthermore, his bail application was denied by the presiding judge, Mojisola Olatoregun. While the case was adjourned till Wednesday, 23 Oct. 2018, he will remain in EFCC custody.
