Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has blamed injury for Alexis Sanchez’ poor form this season the Red Devils.

Sanchez has managed one goal and two assists in the league this season and would miss the game against Everton.

The Chilean has been criticised by many for failing to replicate his Arsenal form at United.

Jose Mourinho says the player would need a consistent run of games to be at his best form.

“In this moment, he is struggling because he is injured and because he came to the Chelsea match to try to help the team but his physical condition was not good.

“Then he had to stop and he was not available for Juventus. I believe he is not available tomorrow again.

“So now the point is to be physically in the best condition.

“He arrived in January last season – I don’t think that is ever an easy situation for a player.

“But this season he had a good start. He had a good preseason and he started well against Leicester. Then he was injured. Then he came back and then he was injured again.

“So he is struggling with his condition and I think he is the kind of player that needs to really sharp to play his best game.”

Sanchez is one of six United players that missed the game against Juventus.

Jones, Dalot, McTominay, Fellaini and Lingard are the other players who missed the game and could be unavailable on Sunday.
