Leicester City Confirms Death Of Club Owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha

Leicester City have confirmed that the club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was on board the helicopter that crashed yesterday.

The Thai businessman was one of five people who lost their lives in Saturday’s helicopter crash outside the King-Power Stadium.

In a tragic incident after the game against West Ham, the owner’s helicopter lost control and crashed into a car park at King Power Stadium a few seconds after take off.

Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare who were members of Srivaddhanaprabha’s staff, pilot Eric Swaffer, and passenger Izabela Roza Lechowicz are believed to be the other four victims of the crash.

60-year-old Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha bought Leicester in August 2010 while in the Championship and became the club’s chairnan six months later.

With him at the top, Leicester gained promotion to the Premier League in 2014 and have remained since then.

Under Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s ownership, Leicester won their first and only Premier League title in the 2015/2016 season.
