At the moment, discord looms in Ogun state APC. Ibikunle Amosun ditched his strongest supporter, Lanre Tejuosho by coveting his senatorial seat and stealing it from right under his nose.
Lanre Tejuosho is the senator representing Ogun Central at the National Assembly and was hopeful for a return in 2019. An ambition Amosun cut short when he won APC’s Ogun Central ticket, as the duo are from the same senatorial district.
However, trouble began between them when Amosun declared an intention to contest for Senate through Ogun central senatorial district.
At the moment Tejusosho feels betrayed because he was a staunch supporter of Amosun. Since his days in ANPP before he decamped to APC and clinched the governorship ticket in 2011
Thus in an about-face, Tejuosho withdrew his support from Governor Ibikunle Amosun’ camp.
Happenings recalls that the conflict in Ogun APC began when Dapo Abiodun won the Governorship ticket. Defeating Amosun’s preferred candidate, Abiodun Akinlade at the primaries.
A victory Amosun is currently battling. Thus Lanre Tejuosho has not just dumped Amosun, he reiterated his commitment to back Dapo Abiodun for Ogun governorship.
A source revealed to Happenings that the present undercurrent of conflict is worrying.
“The turn of the event after All progressive congress primaries in Ogun State has disorganized the party and there are strong indications that if the problem is not nipped in the bud, the party may lose the state in 2019”, the source stated.
Amosun‘s senate ticket has shut the door not only to Lanre Tejuosho but to also Amosun’s SSG, Adeoluwa whose dreams of going to the Senate has been shattered.
The man at the centre of this brouhaha in Ogun APC is Dapo Abiodun the father of late DJ Olu.
DJ Olu was Davido’s closest friend he died from an alleged drug overdose in his Banana Island neighbourhood.
