By all appearance, it is a bitter rivalry between Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Jimi Agbaje as they belong to rival political parties.
Sanwo-Olu is the Lagos governorship candidate for the All Progressive Congress (APC). While Agbaje is the Lagos Governorship Candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Over the weekend, the duo was spotted partying together against the chagrin of their supporters.
Both men met at the engagement ceremony of the Shodipo and Dosekun families. And it was banter and cordiality, clearly, there was no hostility between them. Despite their conflicting political affiliations.
Sanwo-Olu and Agbaje laughed joyfully and embraced each other.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu ‘s running mate, Obafemi Hamzat also joined them in the apparent merriment.
Aides of both governorship candidates and other guests looked on in admiration as the men battling to succeed Ambode, partied together.
With the latest development, Jimi Agbaje and Babajide Sanwo-Olu have shown that the political sphere is not a battle field. Beyond the polls, social and personal life is not affected by percieved rivalry.
As 2019 election draws near, Agbaje has swung into action to capture the state.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu has also expressed his readiness to govern Lagos state beyond 2019.
