The final shortlist for the 2018 BBC African Footballer of the Year award has been announced.
Five African stars all plying their trade in Europe have been nominated for the award.
Egypt’s Mohammed Salah who won the award last year has been nominated after a spectacular year with Liverpool
His Liverpool colleague and Senegalese forward Sadio Mane have also been shortlisted
Medhi Benatia(Morocco) and Kalidou Koulibaly(Senalgal) who play for Italian club sides Juventus and Napoli also make the list.
Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is the fifth man nominated for the prestigious award.
Mohammed Salah is expected to clinch this one after a record breaking season with Liverpool.
Voting for the awards has commenced today and would end on Sunday, 2 December at 20:00 GMT.
The winner will be announced in a programme on BBC World News on Friday, 14 December at 17:30.
