Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has labelled Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho a better manager compared to him.

The Italian believes the level of Success achieved by the Portuguese makes him one of the best in the world.

Mourinho has won major trophies accross different countries in Europe, something the 59-year-old has not managed to achieve.

Sarri won promotion from Serie B and narrowly missed out on Scudetto to Juventus with Napoli last season.

The former Napoli boss believes Mourinho is truly ‘the Special One’ based on his achievements over the years.

“The Special One is Mourinho. The results speak for him. So, at the moment, he is better than me for sure. I hope to improve myself in the future, but at the moment I have to say he’s better than me.

Sarri: Mourinho Is Better Than Me And Is Still The “Special One”

“I think he is different. I think that I have my character, and my character probably is different to his character. So I have to be myself, always. Otherwise I am not credible.

“He has won everything everywhere. So I need to win if I want to compare myself to him.

“His success isn’t just in the past – I think he will also be able to win in the future. He is really one of the best. Maybe the best. I think he will be able to win again.

“At the moment, it’s not possible [to compare us]. You are talking about one of the best coaches in the world, and I’m not – at the moment – one of the best.

“I’d like to win something because, at the moment, I need to win. I have won in Serie B, Serie C, Serie D like the Championship, League One and League Two here in England.

“But now I need to win at this level.”
