The former Chairman of Board of Trustees of Peoples Democratic Party, Tony Anenih is ready for burial.
His remains will be buried on December 1 at his country home in Uzenema Arue, Uromi, Edo State.
In a statement made available to the media on Monday confirmed that the burial kicks off with wake-keep in Abuja and Benin, leading to his internment in Uromi.
Edo State government has indicated interest to give Anenih a state burial.
While Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Rivers, and the Delta States have also shown commitment to support the burial.
The burial rite will commence on November 27 with a vigil mass and later in the day followed with a tributes session at Ecumenical Center in Abuja.
On November 30, there will be lying-in-state at the University of Benin Sports Complex, Ugbowo, Edo States.
Anenih’s body will on December 1 leave for a final requiem at St Anthony Catholic Cathedral, Uromi.
This follows with a interment at his Mausoleum in Uromi, Edo State.
Anenih, 85, died on October 28 in Abuja. He died at Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja, where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.
Before his death, Anenih had earlier lost his wife, Patricia who died in London and a son, Eugene who died at the age of 51.
