Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho sang his own praise after his team qualified for the Last-16 of the Champions League.

A late Marounne Fellaini strike gave United the win against Young Boys, in what was largely an uninspiring performance.

The win ensured United would be amongst the last 16 teams when the draws are made next month.

Speaking at a post-match interview with BT Sports, the Portuguese was quick to remind his critics of his records.

“For some of my lovers- the ones that like stats. I just want to say: 14 seasons in the Champions League. 14 times qualified through the group phase.”

“The season I didn’t play Champions League I won the Europa League.”

The 55-year-old has progressed beyond the group stage of the Champions League in all fourteen seasons his teams have participated.

Having made his debut in the competition with Porto in the 2002-03 season which he won. He has since coached Chelsea(two stints), Inter Milan(winning again in 2010), Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Mourinho won the Europa League in 2016 with the Red Devils.
