Sex -For –Mark: Prof. Richard Akindele To Remain in Prison Till December 17

A Federal High Court sitting in Oshogbo on Tuesday denied a bail application to former Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) lecturer, Professor Richard Akindele.

The embattled professor is charged with an accusation of demanding sex for the mark from one of his students, Monica Osagie.

The presiding judge, Maureen Onyetenu in her ruling remanded Akindele in Ilesa Prison until December 17, 2018.

The ruling according to Onyetenu is for the prosecuting counsel from the ICPC to produce video evidence of the lecturer and his student having fun.

Akindele was denied bail application based on his refusal to honor an invitation to ICPC office in Abuja.

The ICPC Senior Legal Officer, Kehinde Adeoye was instrumental to Akindele from being bail.

Adeoye had prayed the court to deny the defendant bail on the ground that he would not appear for his trial when released.

Akindele’s problems started when a postgraduate student, Monica Osagie exposed the sex advances from the professor.

Monica, to buttress her claim released the video of the love drama and their conversations on the social media.

In the purported video, Akindele agreed to pass the student to grade A mark in exchange for a sexual favor.

The revelation, however, led to the school authority dismissing the lecturer from the school and handed him to ICPC for prosecution.
