The killer of LASTMA official, Inspector Olukunle Olonade is also dead.
He gave up the ghost last night on his way to a nearby hospital to save his life.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, has however ordered a post-mortem trial and dismissal of the late Inspector.
Olukunle Olonade until his death was an officer attached with Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
Olonade on Wednesday reportedly killed an official of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Rotimi Adeyemi at a gunpoint in Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos State.
The slain LASTMA official was said to have accused the policeman of contravening the state traffic law.
The scuffle between them led to the policeman sending Rotimi Adeyemi to an early grave.
The inspector was thereafter attacked and mobbed but rescued by policemen around who identified him as an officer attached with FSARS.
Inspector Olukunle also died last night as a result of the attack meted to him.
The remains of the LASTMA official has been disposited at the morgue for autopsy. Adeyemi aged 46 is survived by a wife and the newly born twins.
There are moves by the Lagos State government to give the late LASTMA official a state burial, having died in the cause of duty.
