Abdulrahaman Loses APC Governorship Slot to Kayode Omotose in Kwara State

Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq is no longer the governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress in Kwara State.

A High Court sitting in  Ilorin the Kwara State capital on Wednesday sacked Abdulrahman.

Kayode Omotose is now the recognized and the rightful APC governorship candidate in Kwara State.

Justice T S Umar in his ruling ordered INEC to recognize Kayode Omotose as the APC governorship candidate in the state.

Recall that APC’s national working committee on September 18 expelled Hon Balogun Fulani’s led members from the party.

The expulsion of Balogun Fulani faction and his governorship candidate, Kayode Omotose from the party led to automatic emergence of Abdulrahman as governorship candidate.

Abdulrahman after today’s dismissal by the court may likely seek redress in court to reclaim his lost mandate.

In the last one week, the court has sacked about three governorship candidates and one presidential candidate from contesting.

Few of them include Kashamu Buruji from Ogun State, Abdulraman, Kwara State and Donald Duke, a presidential candidate from SDP.

Their denial from running for offices is the factional crisis in their parties.
