Federal Government has declared December 25 and 26, 2018, and January 1, 2019, as public holidays.
The public holidays are to mark Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year celebrations.
The Interior Minister, Abdulrahman Danbazau on Wednesday made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government.
The minister in his statement enjoined the Christian faithful and all Nigerians to use the period to pray for the development of the country.
He implores Nigerians to maintain peace and unity in the country before, during and after the 2019 general elections.
Danbazau on behalf of President Mohammadu Buhari wished Nigerians happy Christmas and New Year year celebration.
