Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has terminated his contract with Chinese side Tianjin Tigers after two years with them.
The 30-year-old confirmed his exit from Chinese Super League side in an interview with Tianjin TV Sports New Vision programme.
“I broke the contract with the club, which means I will leave Teda,” Mikel told
“As for my next stop, I am not sure yet, maybe I will return to Europe, maybe stay in China.
“Anyway, I would like to wish the Teda team good luck next season.”
The Nigeria international played 31 times scoring three goals and contributing three assists for the club. His next destination is still unknown.
