No fewer than three journalists were hit with bullets at a rally put together for the APC governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The rally which was overtaken by thugs took place at the Skypower field, Ikeja, Lagos.
Among those shot include group political editor of The Nation Newspaper, Emmanuel Oladesu, News-Telegraph correspondent, Temitope Ogunbanke.
Ibile Television cameraman, Abiodun Yusuf also had a bullet wound.
Scores of party members also sustained injuries as a result of robbery and stampede at the rally arena.
Pandemonium hit the rally when Lagos governor, Akinwunmi Ambode was delivering his speech.
Suspected rival groups of National Union Road Transport Workers (NURTW) shot at each other.
The thugs took advantage of the fracas and had a field day.
They robbed many of their valuable items such as wallets, phones, and money.
Further checks confirmed that Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo was manhandled and beaten by the rival Road Union group.
He was also stabbed and had to be carted away from the venue for his own safety. This is coming days after a viral video of MC Oluomo encouraging his supporters to take up arms surfaced online.
While two people were later discovered to have been killed after the rally.
APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and few other top members of the party were also on ground at the rally.
The rally ended with vote of thanks by the governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
