Oba Sikiru Adetona, the Awujale and paramount King of Ijebu land, has declared his support for the All Progressive Congress candidate, Dapo Abiodun.
Oba Adetona on Wednesday announced his support during Dapo Abiodun’s courtesy visit to his palace.
The delegation was led by former Ogun State governor, Olusegun Osoba, Dapo Abiodun and his deputy, Engr. (Mrs.) Nimot Salako-Oyedele.
The highly revered king while addressing Dapo ‘s entourage said the APC candidate has the capacity to steer the ship of the state.
Adetona in his submission urged the Ijebu sons and daughters to cast their votes for Abiodun in the forthcoming election.
While adding that this is payback time for Abiodun having contributed in no small measure to the development of Ijebu land.
The monarch also advised him to take the people of the state serious and fulfill his electoral promises when he becomes the governor of the state.
Awujale also made case for the reconstruction of roads linking Ogun to Lagos and Oyo States and equally rural roads for economic advancement.
Dapo Abiodun in his appreciation thanked the monarch for the grand reception and his support for his governorship bid.
The Heyden Petroleum boss, in his address, said he would keep all his electoral promises.
“My administration will restore the dignity, image, and respect of the Ijebus in the days to come by God’s grace”. Dapo enthused.
Earlier before meeting Awujale Dapo Abiodun, a fortnight ago has also received the endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari as prospective APC governorship candidate in Ogun State.
Dapo is now set to tackle his perceived political enemy and his candidate, Governor Ibikunle Amosun and Abiodun Akinlade of APM.
