The National Treasurer of National Union Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, otherwise known as MC Oluomo, has been discharged from Eko Hospital.
MC Oluomo, as he is fondly called, left for the United States of America on Tuesday night to receive better medical care.
He was said to have paid over N2Million before leaving the hospital premises.
A dependable source, who asked to remain anonymous, confirmed that Oluomo was doing fine and responding to treatment before leaving.
According to sources, he moved along the corridor of the hospital to see his visitors off, which was a strong indication that he was gradually regaining his health.
Thus, the latest development has laid to rest the death rumours that have been milling around for the past few days.
MC Oluomo was attacked on Tuesday, January 8, during the flag-off of the All Progressive Congress gubernatorial campaign at the Sky view Ground in Ikeja, Lagos.
The NURTW Chief sustained varying degrees of injuries, resulting from a stab wound inflicted with a poisonous knife on his neck and side.
Journalists of several main stream media houses were also treated for gunshot wounds sustained during the stampede.
Officers of the Lagos Police Command have arrested at least three suspects in connection with the violence.
While the prime suspect, Mustapha Adekunle, better known as Siego, has been declared wanted over the disruption of the rally.
CSP Chike Oti, the command’s spokesman, said that the suspects in their custody are helping the police with their investigation.
