General Elections Likely to be Moved to March 26th 2019

Is APC unsure of winning at the Presidential Polls?

Happenings

A reliable source who prefers to stay anonymous, revealed to Happenings that the highly-anticipated general elections scheduled for February 16, 2019 will likely be moved to March 26, 2019.

As if to validate this stance, the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) Ad hoc election training which was scheduled from 29th Jan - 31st Jan 2019, was unceremoniously moved to Jan 31 - Feb. 2, 2019.

Recall that NYSC corp members are used as Polling Officers (PO) and Assistant Polling Officers (APO) in polling units across the state during elections.

Also recall that during the 2015 elections in Rivers State, several corpers lost their lives to election violence.

There are speculations albeit unverified that the political sphere is charged and the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC) may be unsure about winning the upcoming elections, at the presidential level.

You must admit that the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been quite aggressive in their campaign for their candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Furthermore, Oby Ezekwesili is also in a political battle to step down from the presidential race albeit unsuccessfully as INEC has made it clear that her decision is coming too late and she must contest as the presidential candidate of ACPN - Allied Congress Party of Nigeria.

In the midst of the current political brouhaha, minor parties with Kingsley Moghalu, Fela Durotoye, Oby Ezekwesili and Omoyele Sowore as representatives are open to form a political Alliance to defeat the two major Nigerian parties , APC and PDP.

What are you thoughts about the current political atmosphere?
