Niteshift Coliseum Hosts Babajide Sanwo-Olu To A Grand House Reception
Yesterday, Sunday, January 27, was another funfilled day for All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He was hosted to a Grand House Reception at the prestigious celebrity hangout, Niteshift Coliseum, Opebi, Lagos.
As part of the activities lined up for his ongoing campaign, the event afforded Babajide Sanwo-Olu the opportunity to share his ideas and plans for Lagos with the Coliseum’s hosts and patrons as well as articulate their views about the state and governance.
The event kicked off with a red carpet with several politicians, mostly APC members, who were on ground before the arrival of the incoming governor, sharing the goodies and the greater plans the highly favoured has for Lagos residents if he wins at the poll.
After a few hours of much festivities on the red carpet, the party train later moved to the main arena of the club where Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his wife, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and his deputy, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, were given a historic welcome.
Prominent Lagos senators, including Senators Musilu Obanikoro, Ganiu Solomon and Olorunibe Mamora, were also on ground to cheer up the technocrat turned politician.
Other notable Nigerians who came to celebrate with the three time commissioner are Olorogun Sunny Kuku, Captain Najomo, Chief (Mrs) Kemi Nelson, Tunde Obileye, and Tunde and Wunmi Obe, among others.
APC Lagos Woman Leader, Jumoke Okoya Thomas, who led the women’s wing to the event also added fun to the social gathering and praised Sanwo-Olu to high heavens with special songs.
The high point of the event was the introduction of Sanwo Olu before he was invited to the hot seat for an interactive session where he reeled out his plans for the state.
Babajide, in his address, unveiled his theme, the five pillars of development agenda for a greater Lagos. He also called on his opponents to make the campaign season a time to deal with issues that affect the people.
“Having unveiled my theme, our plan is to integrate road, rail and water transportation in Lagos to solve the problem of commuting within the metropolis.
“We will fix all bad roads and expand our road infrastructure. We will complete all existing roads, the inner city road and adjoining roads,” Sanwo-olu stated.
Ken Caleb Olumese, the respected CEO, thanked Sanwo-Olu for honouring the invitation and wished him well during the forthcoming Lagos gubernatorial election.
The Niteshift Coliseum is one the most famous and respected Lagos hangouts that honours eminent Nigerians across the country.
Among distingished personalties honoured in the past are ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Senator Kenneth Nnamani, former Ghanaian president, Jerry Rawlings, Dr.Ngozi Iweala, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu
