Respite For Ambode As Three Governors Kick Against Impeachment
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, heaved a sigh of relief when three South West governors, including Kayode Fayemi, Rotimi Akeredolu and Ibikunle Amosun, a few days ago, kicked against the alleged impeachment moves by the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The three APC governors have vowed to give Ambode a national cover and also save him from the calculated attempt to disgrace him out of office after losing his second term bid.
His closeness to the three governors seems to have saved him further embarrassment. The Lagos State Speaker, Mudasiru Obasa, had already concluded plans to impeach him on Monday, February 4th, based on alleged financial impropriety allegations against him.
The three governors, known to be very close to President Muhammadu Buhari, were said to have promised Ambode the needed relevance in the scheme of things at the national level on or before the post general elections.
They also promised to save him from Tinubu, who is believed to be the arrowhead behind the impeachment move in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Checks revealed that before now the trio of Fayemi, Akeredolu, and Amosun have been working seriously to take away Tinubu’s influence in and out of Lagos State.
A very dependable source added that they have now taken Ambode’s case as a veritable tool to fight Tinubu.
In other news, reports have surfaced that Ambode is financially supporting Jimi Agbaje, a candidate of the opposition party who is up against his party man, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
