Walter Onnoghen’s Trial To Begin February 4
The Code of Conduct Tribunal has fixed Monday, February 4th, for the trial of Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.
The date was fixed on Thursday, after losing the case stay of proceedings filed by the embattled former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, in the Appeal Court.
The correspondence, titled Application for resumption of Trial of the case Hon Justice Onnoghen Nkanu Walter Samuel, has been addressed to the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Justice Danladi Umar.
As the trial is set to begin on Monday, many have said Onnoghen may possibly be prosecuted and dismissed from the service despite massive support garnered across the country.
Onnoghen is presently facing trial over false asset declaration set up against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau.
