After weeks of marathon prayers by Edgal Imohimi to remain Lagos State Commissioner of Police, his dream of retaining the job has just been shattered by the recent redeployment.

The Police Service Commission, on Wednesday, removed Edgal Imohimi following the recommendation of the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

A northern extraction, Mu’azu Zubairu, has since replaced Edgal as the new Lagos State Commissioner of Police.

Recall that the immediate past Inspector-General, Ibrahim Idris, had earlier removed Edgal, replacing him with Kayode Egbetokun but his successor, Adamu Muhammed, on resumption opposed the decision of his predecessor.

He retained Edgal as Lagos CP until his removal on Wednesday.

The former Chief Security Officer to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kayode Egbetokun, who was earlier appointed as Lagos CP by Ibrahim Idris, the retired IG, has now been redeployed to Kwara State as Commissioner of Police.

According to the statement made available to the media by the Police Service Commission, new appointments and redeployment were made across the country in preparation for the 2019 general elections.

Alhaji Musilu Smith, the Chairman of the Commission, has urged the new appointees to quickly resume at their respective duties and ensure free and fair transparent election.
