CUPP to protest on Friday as CCT orders Onnoghen’s arrest
Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has completed arrangements to hold a nationwide protest on Friday to stop the arrest of Justice Walter Onnoghen, as ordered by the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
The order was made on Wednesday by Chairman of the CCT, Justice Danladi Umar, over the failure of Onnoghen to appear before the tribunal for his trial on fraud allegations.
However, as at Wednesday evening, the embattled Justice was yet to be arrested the security agencies a few hours after the order was issued.
Further checks confirmed that Onnoghen will evade any move of his arrest until Friday when he will submit himself voluntarily to the invitation of the tribunal.
If he shows up on Friday at the CCT, Onnoghen is expected to explain to the tribunal on the allegations instituted against him by the Federal Government and his failure to declare all assets as stipulated by the law.
