Nnamdi Kanu Calls Off Election Boycott

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on Thursday night, directed his members across the country to partake in the general election scheduled to hold tomorrow, Saturday, February 16.

Nnamdi Kanu called off the election boycott earlier announced by the group twenty four hours to the election after all necessary demands were met.

“Having confirmed this evening that all our preconditions and terms have been met, signed, sealed and delivered; I hereby call off the election boycott across Biafra land,” Kanu stated.

The leader of the separatist group some weeks back had informed his members to boycott the presidential election which will serve as a form of referendum to confirm their allegiance to Nigeria.

The aim of the referendum, according IPOB spokesman, Comrade Emma Powerful, is to know those who want Nigerian politics and those who prefer Biafran freedom through a peaceful and democratic process for sovereignty of the Biafra Land.

The Abia State born activist is on the wanted list of the federal government over treasonable felony offence charged against him at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
