A female presidential candidate based in Abuja, Ms. Eunice Atuejide, of the National Interest Party (NIP), has stepped down from the race to support Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Eunice, on Wednesday, dumped her ambition to back Atiku, barely four days to the rescheduled election.

Atuejide, before making her decision, believed the former Vice President would run a transparent government and choose the best hands from all regions of the country.

In a statement released to the media in Abuja, she stated the reasons for her decision, noting that she always puts Nigeria first above all other interests, the reason why she backed down for Atiku.

“I believe strongly that a Nigeria led by Atiku Abubakar will drastically reduce the suffering we have all endured under President Buhari led maladministration.

“I believe there will be respect for human life, less nepotism, tribalism, religious fanaticism, insensitivity and outright disregard for the wishes of Nigerians.

“I make bold to state unequivocally that I stand with Atiku under the PDP this time.

“I cannot defend PDP for giving us bad leadership from 1999 to 2015, yet I cannot help but blame the APC for doing a much worse job than good from 2015 to 2019,” she stated.

The former presidential hopeful, in her statement, further reiterated her support for Atiku, adding that she is fully behind Atiku to win at the polls on Saturday.

Atuejide is the Founder and chairman of National Interest Party (NIP). She is a Barrister and Solicitor of Supreme Court of Nigeria.
