“It is with great sadness that I am announcing the passing of my Mother, Deaconess Yemi Fawaz.

“We thank God for her well-lived life and for her strong faith in the Lord Almighty.

“Her home going arrangements will be announced soon.

“I ask that you keep our family in your prayers and I am grateful that she was able to touch you all in so many ways,” Oluwatobi stated.

The late super model had an unsuccessful battle with colon cancer, had a hole in her heart and also suffered kidney problems before her death.

She started her modelling career during its formative years and became a supermodel in the late 70s. Beautiful Fawaz had a modelling school and contributed in no small measure to the fashion industry.

She left Nigeria in 1997 for the United States, to further consolidate her fashion business and did not return until 2016.
