Ahead of the Presidential elections scheduled to commence in a few hours, Lagos residents were gripped with bouts of panic purchase yesterday.

Most supermarkets and stores were filled to the brim with customers waiting to stock up on food, drinks and household items, against the ‘no movement’ directive of the election.

With the frenzy in supermarkets, it would seem that Lagosians expect the worst and are preparing for doomsday.

Furthermore the activity of panic purchase, betrays a fear that the election may be fraught with violence, thus it would be wise to stay indoors for as long as possible.

Recall that in anticipation of the election which was postponed last weekend, , there were also panic purchases in super markets across Nigeria.

A quick walk on the aisle of your neighbourhood store will see empty spaces where products used to be.

In anticipation of the upcoming election, the frenzy was not limited to just panic purchases as there was traffic in several parts of the city as many made a valiant effort to get to their respective polling units.

What preparations did you make in anticipation of the Presidential elections?
