Agbaje Decries Attacks On Voters By Suspected APC Thugs

Funsho Akinwale

Jimi Agbaje, the Lagos governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, has expressed displeasure over harassment of voters in the PDP stronghold and reports of stolen and burnt ballot boxes during the election which held last Saturday.

The pharmacist turned politician on Monday commiserated with people injured, molested denied their right to vote by the suspected thugs of All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I condemn in the strongest possible terms the brazen destruction, disruption and havoc wreaked on the well-meaning and patriotic Lagosians while trying to exercise their civic right.

“There is no justifiable reason for this aggressive action by the thugs of APC, who eventually failed to discourage and frighten Lagosians from the polls,” Agbaje stated.

Agbaje, in his statement, further implored the security operatives to protect voters and be loyal to the constitution. He appealed to the Lagos residents and indigenes to be calm and sue for peace.

Agbaje’s statement is coming on the heels of the attack meted to some voters during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The hoodlums, who are suspected APC thugs, invaded the traditional stronghold of PDP to prevent them from voting.

The PDP catchment areas where APC hoodlums unleashed mayhem included Oshodi-Isolo, Ojo Surulere, Ojo, Ikeja, Ibeju Lekki, Amuwo Odofin and Eti-Osa.

The PDP gubernatorial candidates have thus called on security operatives to fish out the bandits to face the wrath of the law.
