Not many knew Ibrahim Oloriegbe until last Saturday’s National Assembly election when he defeated the Senate President, Olubukola Saraki, of the People’s Democratic Party.
Oloriegebe, of the all Progressives Congress, polled 123, 808 to win Saraki who scored 68,994 in the Kwara Central Senatorial district.
A member of the Kwara State House of Assembly between 1990 and 2003 on the platform of All People’s Party (APP), Oloriegebe is a medical practitioner by profession.
The Ahmadu Bello University graduate lost to Saraki in 2011 and tried all means through Appeal Court to reclaim his mandate but the case was dismissed due to lack of merit.
He waited for his time and won at his second attempt.
