The Independent National Electoral Commission has cancelled the governorship and State House of Assembly elections in Ogudu/Ojota area of Lagos over missing ballot papers.
According to reports, one thousand ballot papers for the Lagos State House of Assembly have been recorded missing at the polls in that area.
The election, according to INEC, would be fixed for another date.
Speaking with Happenings, one of the candidates, Moyosore Ogunlewe, of PDP, admitted that he was in full support of the electoral body cancelling the election.
He further noted that he lost to an APC candidate at the 2015 general elections over a similar issue believed to have been perpetrated by the ruling party.
"I will take it up with INEC if they go ahead with the election after the discovery,” stated Ogunlewe, son of Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, a former Minister of Works.
