Tekno Celebrates Women In New Video ‘Woman’ To Mark International Women’s Day

Did Tekno actually do justice to celebrating women in the visuals to his song, ‘Woman’? Find out here!

Austin Myles, also known as Tekno, has strategically released visuals to his new song, ‘Woman’, in commemoration of the International Women’s Day. The video is a colourful depiction of the beautiful African woman.

Produced under his new record label, Cartel, the song preaches equality and embracing the female gender as strong and powerful.

Tekno uses this video to celebrate and appreciate women of different sizes and shapes. The fact that the women are well dressed and artistically adorned in the video makes it even more colourful.

In the song, he mentions that people should quit sidelining women.

His lyrics can be described as okay, perhaps inspiring and motivational, but a bit misleading. The words, "... I want my baby to get a lot of money o Olorun ma je (which means 'God forbid' in Yoruba), are too confusing and contradictory for the message he tries to convey.

In addition, the lyrics "... women sweet like melody, play them like doh re mi" are not particularly inspiring, as they could easily be misconstrued as playing a woman like an instrument or a tool.

It is obvious that not many Nigerian musicians pay any mind to their lyrics as long as the beats of the song can be danced to. Musicians should start writing good songs and stop with the 'cut and join' music like amateurs.

The genre of this new song is quite uncertain as well, as it sounds both high life and otherwise.

Have you listened to Tekno's new song? What do you think about it?
