Two Nigerians Involved In Ill-Fated Ethiopian Airlines Plane Crash 

Two Nigerians and 155 others on board the Ethiopian Airlines plane, which crashed on Sunday, have been confirmed dead 

Two Nigerians, Professor Pius Adesanmi and Ambassador Abiodun Bashua, were among the 149 passengers and eight crew members on board the Ethiopian Airlines plane which crashed on Sunday.

According to reports, the Boeing 737 passenger jet crashed on a flight from Addis Ababa to Nairobi in Kenya.

The airline spokesman said the crash happened at about 08.44 local time, shortly after take-off from the Ethiopian capital.

Adesanmi, before his death, was a popular columnist and activist who taught at Carlton University in Canada. He was said to have been travelling with his Canadian passport.

Bashua, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was former UN and AU Deputy Joint Special Representative in Darfur Sudan and was travelling with a UN passport.
