Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has made it clear that he is in full support of the governor-elect, Seyi Makinde
The Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has said that he is confident of a successful transition of government and a smooth take off during the inauguration ceremony of the incoming governor on May 29, 2019.
Ajimobi affirmed his assurance during Seyi Makinde’s courtesy visit to the governor at the State House in Agodi, Ibadan, on Thursday.
The State Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Adeyemo, Secretary to the State Government, Lekan Ali, and a few other Executive Council members were among the governor’s cabinets who gave a grand reception to the incoming governor and his entourage.
Commending the visit, the outgoing governor said that he appreciated his visit and his action is an indication that his interest for the state is sacrosanct to him.
He implored him to be wary of sycophants and hangers-on around him, adding that he should put aside the celebration and plan ahead for his government to succeed.
Ajimobi urged the governor-elect to sustain the peace, unity and security that his administration has put in place in the last 8 years.
“I commend your noble move which is different from the past when someone loses an election, they will start making troubles and abusing each other.
“I am so happy that we are moving this state to a high level.
“Our own was relatively peaceful and for you to say you want to come and greet me, it is a departure from the past.
“ For me, we must continue on this path.
“We will work together with you and make sure that the transition is as smooth as possible,” Ajimobi assured.
