Otunba Gbenga Daniel Quits Politics to focus on personal life

Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the former governor of Ogun State has quit active politics to concentrate more on his personal life and business.

His last engagement was his position as the Director General of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, where he gave account of himself, promoting the ambition of the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar across the country before and during the February 23 presidential election.

The Engineer turned politician also contested for Remo/Ishaga East Senatorial district during the national assembly election but lost to the ruling party’s candidate.

In an official letter sent to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus, he expressed his decision to quit politics for his personal life activities.

My decision to quit partisan politics notwithstanding, I have decided to rejuvenate my charity based organisation, the Gateway Front Foundation (GFF) which will literally continue to dispense succor to our people in need, address and assist in the areas of some of their health challenges.

I also plan on resuscitation of the non-partisan Political Leadership Academy (POLA) which I established some years ago as a platform of political education to our citizens.

Without doubt, I will miss the company of my friends and associates and all those relationships I built in the course of the years all over the country.

The Chairman of Krestal Laurel - engineering firm, joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2001.

He served as governor of Ogun State for eight years and his achievements is still a reference point in social, physical, education, economic and human capital till date.
