Fear has gripped Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, over what will be the outcome of the tribunal judgment on Adeleke’s petition on Friday.

This is one of the reasons Oyetola has not made much appointments to determine his fate.

The Osun State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja is set to deliver the judgement on the petition forwarded against the result of the September 2018 governorship election in the state by Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic party governorship candidate at the poll.

The three-man panel had, on March 7, 2019, reserved comment on the case until yesterday, Tuesday, announcing Friday, March 23, as the day to deliver the judgement.

Adeleke, in his petition, had urged the tribunal to upturn Oyetola’s victory over irregularities that marred the governorship poll, claiming to have scored the majority of the lawful votes in the election.

He implored the court to declare him winner of the election.

At the March 7 proceedings, Chief Wole Olanipekun, (SAN), who represented the governor, and Chief Akin Olujimi (SAN), who stood for the All Progressives Congress, and INEC lawyer, Lasco Pwahomdi, collectively asked the tribunal to dismiss the case for lack of merit.

Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), while adopting his final address, urged the court to uphold the petition and grant his client’s prayers.

The electoral umpire declared the current governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, of APC,, winner of the election which held last September 22, while the supplementary election held on September 27, 2018.

The two parties are now on bended knees, praying fervently for the case to favour them.

As the dancing senator is prepared to retrieve his stolen mandate, Oyetola, who is presently enjoying power, is desirous to retain the governorship seat by all means.
