There are some things you can’t wrap your head around. Toby Grey’s shocking revelation about Mc Galaxy making a demand of 2 milliona naira to make her famous is one of those things
The ongoing ‘Fvck You’ challenge has prompted artistes to come forward with the pains they couldn't voice out before now, probably because they didn’t have the opportunity. But this new challenge has provided the perfect opportunity to talk about what they’re going through.
Tobi Grey, a young ambitious artiste with a sonorous voice, started her career by making covers and replies to songs of popular artistes. Now years later, she is still classified as an up and coming artiste in the industry.
Many have wondered why such an embodiment of talent is yet to be discovered and signed by a reputable music company. The artiste took a stand, which many have applauded. She made the decision to let her music speak for her rather than taking the route most desperate, new artistes take - sleeping around and warming the beds of producers to kiss fame.
She has now voiced out with the ‘Fvck You’ challenge, which recently went viral after Kizz Daniel released his latest song.
Revealing that she has been in the industry for seven years and has still not been noticed or tasted fame, she maintained that artistes, producers and record label owners have been asking her to warm their beds before giving her an opportunity to show he talent to the world and a chance at fame.
Further revelation from her about "Okokobioko" asking for 2 million naira to push her song and make her career "blow" is shocking, to say the least. Okokobioko is the nickname for Mc Galaxy, because that happens to be his music catchphrase. This is laughable and preposterous since Mc Galaxy is also desperate for ways to push his music and has reduced to using nudity and money to promote his songs.
Now, many can’t help wondering how someone like Mc Galaxy, who isn't even one of the top rated artistes in Nigeria, can demand for such a huge amount to promote another person? If he had such knowledge of promoting artistes, why didn't he use it to promote his craft rather than encourage desperate women to strip on his page so he could remain relevant?
