Lagos CP, Zubiaru Muazu, Visits Family Of Slain Kolade Johnson

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, on Tuesday, paid a condolence visit to the family of slain youngster, Kolade Johnson.

The Lagos police boss, during the visit, condoled with the family and assured them along with friends and well-wishers of the deceased that justice would prevail in the case.

The commissioner, in his submission, promised to initiate a reform to help in repositioning the anti-cultism squad for effective service delivery particularly in the area of respect for humanity and precautions in handling of firearms.

Kolade, a handsome young man, was over the weekend shot by Lagos Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) while watching football at Onipetesi, Mangoro in Agege area of Lagos.

A few minutes after his death, some angry youths in the area locked down the community in a protest before the arrival of the Rapid Response Squad who brought normalcy to the area.

Further checks confirmed that members of the SARS team suspected to be involved in the shooting have been nabbed and are currently in the coffers of police custody for interrogation.

They are expected to face internal disciplinary measures and will be prosecuted and dismissed after interrogation. Kolade's death is coming a few months after a LASTMA official was killed by a SARS official at the Iyana Ipaja roundabout area of Lagos.

The killer corp did not survive the reprisal attack by the angry mob who bounced on him after killing the traffic official.
