The Senator-elect for Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has denied nominating his cousin and brother for ministerial appointments.
Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senator-elect for Abia North, has denied the rumour milling around town that he has nominated his younger brother, Mascot Kalu, and his cousin, Dr. Madukwe Ukaegbu, for ministerial appointments.
Kalu, in his statement released on Tuesday, urged the public to disregard the false story.
He described the news as the handwork of political jabbers and mischief makers who are jealous of his popularity and victory in the last general election.
“I condemn the news that I have nominated my brother, Mascot Kalu, and cousin, Madukwe Ukaegbu, for ministerial appointments.
“The fake news is another attempt by political jobbers to score cheap political points.
“I advise the management of the online platform which started the spread to apologise within seven days otherwise face the wrath of the law,” Kalu stated
The former Governor of Abia State also urged members of the APC to be wary of paid agents of the opposition, adding that he will not lose sleep over the antics of failed politicians.
Recall that, before Kalu won his third attempt as senator elect, he had earlier lost his senatorial bid in 2011 and 2015 to the late Senator Uche Chukwumerije and Senator Ohubunwa respectively.
