Moyosore Ogunlewe, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party for the Kosofe Constituency 1 area of Lagos in the last state assembly election, has dumped the party following several crises that hit the party.

The upwardly mobile son of a former Minister of Works, Adeseye Ogunlewe, on Thursday, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the party in Lagos.

Ogunlewe, in his letter, said, “I, Moyosore Ogunlewe, hereby resign my membership from the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect.

“I want to thank all my supporters and well-wishers across the state for their support and steadfastness. God bless you all,” Moyo added.

The lawyer turned politician, who is in his 30, was one of the youngest candidates that contested in the last general elections in Lagos State.

But Adeseye Jnr has not been lucky in his political exploit in the state with the pedigree of his father being a strong politician.

Unlike his contemporaries, including Babajide Obanikoro, the son of a former Minister of Defence, Senator Musilu Obanikoro, and the son of the current Minister of Information, Jimi Lai-Mohammed, all won their respective seats on the platform of the ruling party during the last election.

Recall that Moyo, who is yet to announce his new party, had earlier contested in 2015 but lost to a well experience candidate of APC, Bayo Osinowo, who is now a senator-elect for Lagos East Senatorial District.

The Lagos PDP chapter has been engulfed in several internal crises after their woeful performance in the presidential and governorship elections in the state.
