No Results On Server, Atiku’s Figures Are False – INEC

Atiku’s claim on server results are false, INEC insists.

Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of People’s Democratic Party, claimed weeks ago to have won the February 23 presidential election after seeing the final results sourced from the INEC server.

The electoral umpire, on Saturday, through their reply to the petition filed by Atiku, said there are no results on their server as claimed by the former vice president.

Yunus Usman, the lead counsel to INEC, while speaking on behalf of the commission, said the election results were never transmitted or collated electronically.

Usman added that no such server was in operation and he did not know where Atiku copied his false result from.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had on February 27, 2019 announced President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress the winner of the February 23 presidential election.

Buhari scored 15 million plus to defeat Atiku Abubakar from PDP.

But Atiku, in his petition filed before the tribunal, insisted that INEC’s server showed that he won the election with 18,356, 732 votes to defeat the incumbent who scored 16, 741, 430 votes.

He stated that the results were the total score of the candidates in 35 states, including the Federal Capital Territory.

The commission, however, urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition, adding that the claim was false.

In addition to INEC’s reply, the commission through Chidi Nwafor, the head Communication Technology, denied the server result, noting that the president was duly elected at the February 23 presidential election.

He added that the lawful and recognized computation of results was manually done.
