1. Palm oil and sugar

Besides using palm oil to cook, you can also use it to treat cough. Palm oil and sugar are a good remedy for cough and can work magic on the throat.

Put a spoon of palm oil and half spoon of sugar in a container and mix both ingredients together. Lick it as often as you can daily.

2. Honey

We all know that honey can be used to treat quite a number of ailments because of its natural healing properties. You can lick honey three or four times daily or mix it with warm water, then drink it.

You can also mix it with tea. Put a spoon of honey in warm tea, mix the two together and drink. It will help ease your throat from discomfort and reduce the cough.

3. Take a steam bath

This process is good for cough and also for running nose. Take a bath with warm water and allow the steam to fill the bathroom, then stay in it for a few minutes. This will reduce the pains you might be feeling in your throat.

4. Chew Ginger

Ginger is another good remedy for cough, because of its anti-inflammatory properties. It will reduce the pain you might be feeling in your throat.

You can chop ginger into tiny pieces and chew or use it as a tablet. You can also blend it, mix in warm water and drink it. Repeat the process three times daily

5. Salt and water solution

This solution is effective in treating cough and also sore throat. Put a spoon of salt in warm water, stir it together and gargle. Allow it to stay at the back of your throat for a few minutes, then spit it out. Repeat this process four to five times daily.
