EFCC Nabs Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia At Lagos High Court.
Men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Tuesday, nabbed Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, the dismissed judge of the Federal High Court, just a few minutes after the corruption case against her was struck out.
The embattled justice was cornered by the operatives at the premises of Ikeja High Court, Lagos, while stepping out of the court room.
On sighting the anti-graft men, she quickly made a retreat and ran back to Justice Hakeem Oshodi’s office who had earlier closed down her case.
After a few minutes’ discussion with EFCC, Justice Oshodi could not save her from the claws of the authority as her husband’s presence also did not help matters.
She was later whisked away in a white Hilux van from the court premises.
Earlier, before the arrival of the officials of the commission, the judge had delivered the judgement in her favour.
Justice Oshodi, in his ruling, said the anti-graft commission had not followed the due process set by the National Judicial Council in disciplining erring judicial officers.
He, however, struck out the 31 count charges filed by EFCC against Ofili Ajumogobia, noting that the case lacked jurisdiction to be deliberated on.
