Olowo Of Owo, Oba Olateru-Olagbegi, Is Dead       

Oba Olateru-Olagbegi has passed on at the age of 77.

Oba David Victor Folagbade Olateru-Olagbegi 111, the traditional ruler of Owo Kingdom and CFR, is dead.

Olagbegi, who died yesterday night at the age of 77 after a brief illness, was the eldest son of the late Oba Titus Olateru-Olagbegi 11.

Recall Olateru was installed in 1999 by Owo Kingmakers and on December 11, 2013, given staff of office by the late Olusegun Agagu, former Ondo State Governor.

The late first class king who was a lawyer by profession, received his first degree in law from London, United Kingdom.

He attended Nigerian Law school in 1968, before practising Law under the tutelage of late Fatai Williams and rose to the peak of his career as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Olaterui was appointed Chancellor of the University of Benin in 2005 and later chancellor University of Abuja.

He was the chancellor of the University of Jos and former Chairman of the Ondo Council of Obas.

Oba Olateru-Olagbegi is survived by a wife, Olori Ololade Olateru Olagbegi, and many children and grandchildren.

Preparation is underway to give the late monarch a befitting burial.
